Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
Daily Disposable Contact Lenses
Looking to buy contacts online, one should consider the type you need. There are quite a few types to choose from and depending on your level of activity, the best choice for you is not always going to be the least expensive.
If you find yourself losing contacts all the time, it might be best for you to purchase less expensive disposable contacts. Also if you work in a laboratory where your contacts might become contaminated throughout the day, you may not want to risk cleaning them and having them not become completely clean. Toss them aside and put on a new pair the next day.
Speak with your doctor to make sure you are making the right choice as well since wearing the wrong type of contacts for your eyes can cause serious problems. Wearing contacts too long or wearing the wrong ones for your eye type can cause issues with your cornea, can form blisters under the contact on your eye, and can cause a host of other problems. This is why it is always important to use the proper prescription when buying any kind of contacts and also very important to not wear them overnight.
Some companies offer colored contacts as well and possibly even colored daily disposable lenses. You might change the color of your eyes every day, having people guessing at whether or not you got a haircut because there is “something different about you today.”
As far as convenience, the daily disposables are definitely convenient. Instead of having to remember to pop out your contacts and put them into the saline solution every night, all you need do is pop out the lenses into the trash and then go to bed. The next morning you will rise and grab a new pair of disposables from their container and put them in. Should you happen to lose a contact throughout the course of a day and you do not have the time or are unable to find it, you may use another from the disposables you still have left and not have to worry that you won’t be able to see very well with just one contact in. Wearing contacts in the ocean or the pool is not always a good idea either but with disposables, there is no worry that you will lose your contacts in the water since you will have another few sets waiting for you to use them.
Again, special care should be used so that you are wearing them properly and not over using them. Some daily contacts state you can wear them for 24 hours without having to change them but ask your doctor if this is recommended or safe. Although the contacts can be more breathable if you need to wear them for longer than a few hours, it might still be safer to put on a new set every eight to twelve hours. Your doctor will know what is best for your eyes and can also give you an opinion on which disposable contacts are the best and the safest.
